Video Conferencing Delivery Platforms from Edgewater Networks and InFocus Are Now Interoperable
SAN JOSE, Calif. --(Business Wire)--
Edgewater Networks (News - Alert), a video and voice enterprise session border
controller (ESBC) manufacturer, and collaboration technology pioneer InFocus
Corporation, announced today that their respective video
conferencing-capable products and services are now interoperable.
Together, the companies provide users with a simplified, seamless video
experience that promotes collaboration and clear communications between
individuals in disparate locations.
Edgewater Networks EdgeProtect 7000 series is a natural fit for InFocus'
video deployment, integrating with its ConX group video bridging
platform to deliver secure and reliable video calling between any SIP or
H.323 video calling device including InFocus' Mondopad
giant touch tablet, MVP100
Video Phone and other software clients. EdgeProtect is a single
appliance that incorporates call control, SIP trunking, and security,
becoming the network demarcation point. It provides a clear hand-off
point between the service provider network and the corporate network,
delivering video transmissions between the cloud and video devices. It
is the only ESBC that supports SIP trunking and H.323/SIP for video for
enterprise networks.
"Edgewater Networks is excited to announce the interoperability between
our EdgeProtect video ESBC and InFocus portfolio of video delivery
software and devices like the Mondopad and MVP100 video phone," said
Dave Norman, CEO of Edgewater Networks. "As the demand for video
conferencing and related collaboration services increase, so does the
need for a complete video platform that delivers high-quality,
high-definition, and secure video solutions. With the interoperability
between Edgewater Networks and InFocus, customers can now have what
they've been seeking."
To deliver video conferencing capabilities to the customer, the 55-inch
to 80-inch InFocus Mondopad touch tablet is designed to allow conference
room participants to connect through video, collaborate on documents and
whiteboard ideas, all in real-time. It acts as a SIP endpoint on the
customer's video conference server or service. Similarly, the InFocus
MVP100 Video Phone (News - Alert) simplifies desk-to-desk visual communication
worldwide and maintains the in-person experience with 10.1-inch HD
display and 720p camera. In addition to enabling video calls, the MVP100
can display digital whiteboard sessions from the Mondopad and files
other video calling devices mayshare.
"InFocus' goal is to continually deliver products and services that help
people collaborate in productive ways - from our Mondopads to our MVP
100 video phone to our software that turns any web browser into a full
video end-point," said Surendra Arora, Vice President at InFocus.
"Through the interoperability with Edgewater Networks, InFocus customers
now have an additional firewall traversal and SIP registration option
when deploying InFocus products in the enterprise."
