By Rahul Arora, TMCnet Contributor
Avaya (News - Alert), a provider of business communications and collaboration systems and services, has recently been positioned as a Leader in 2012 Gartner (News - Alert) Magic Quadrant for Corporate Telephony. In the report, Avaya was named a leader based on the Magic Quadrant's two main criteria: 'Ability to Execute' and 'Completeness of Vision.'
Gartner has recognized Avaya for its Aura platform, which provides audio conferencing and web collaboration capabilities. Avaya Aura session-based technology makes it easy to deploy collaboration applications to users anywhere in your organization. Avaya Aura multi-vendor interoperability connects to existing equipment, to networks used by mobile workers, and to people in other organizations. Avaya Aura uses on-net calling to reduce trunking costs and enable global access and intelligent routing.
"Avaya's communications and collaboration platform is built to provide businesses with a solid, secure and interoperable infrastructure that is easy to manage and support, while addressing the rapidly shifting needs of today's workforce. Our solutions will continue to evolve with a rapidly-shifting business landscape -- which is increasingly defined by real-time collaboration, advanced mobility and 'Bring Your Own Device' (BYOD) models — in order to help companies remain agile and achieve their communications objectives," said Gary E. Barnett, senior vice president and GM, Collaboration Platforms.
In related news, Southern Maryland Electric Cooperative (SMECO), a regional, member-owned utility serving more than 150,000 Maryland customers, has deployed Avaya (News - Alert) Customer Experience Interaction Management solutions in aims to deliver outstanding customer service over multiple communication channels.
