AVAYA News - Avaya Recognized as Leader by Gartner
By Rahul Arora, TMCnet Contributor
Avaya (News - Alert), a provider of business communications and collaboration systems and services, recently announced that it has been positioned as a Leader in the recently published 2012 Gartner (News - Alert) Magic Quadrant for Unified Communications (UC). Also, Gartner gave positive rating in two reports, namely the Gartner 2012 MarketScope for Unified Communications for the SMB market for North America and for Western Europe.
Avaya has been recognized for Aura, the company’s SIP-based, open communications platform. Avaya Aura session-based technology makes it easy to deploy collaboration applications to users anywhere in your organization. Avaya Aura multivendor interoperability connects to existing equipment, to networks used by mobile workers, and to people in other organizations. Avaya Aura uses on-net calling to reduce trunking costs and enable global access and intelligent routing.
"Avaya helps enterprises of all sizes reach new levels of collaboration in a highly secure and scalable way. With Avaya Aura and Avaya IP Office, companies can easily manage and support today's rapidly evolving work environments, which are increasingly defined by 'Bring Your Own Device' (BYOD) models, advanced mobility and an expanding range of unified communications capabilities," said Gary E. Barnett, senior vice president and GM, Collaboration Platforms
Users can deploy Avaya Aura Conferencing in a single server configuration or with multiple servers in a distributed architecture. Multiple servers support high capacity—up to 7,500 concurrent audio and web collaboration sessions, and offer multiple design and redundancy options.
"Only Avaya has the depth of understanding in both the technology of communications and the how people can -- and need to -- use these technologies to improve how they work. As a result, we continue to evolve and integrate the capabilities of our UC portfolio to provide customers with an extraordinary user experience that enables rich, easy and instantaneous communication and collaboration from any device," said Brett Shockley (News - Alert), senior vice president & GM, Applications & Emerging Technologies, Avaya.
