Avaya Government Solutions recently launched Farmers' Market Finder, an app for farmers’ market enthusiasts to track down open markets near them.

With the weather warming up – prematurely in many places – it's not surprising that thoughts are turning toward farming. Tilling, planting and ultimately harvesting are about to occupy the lives of a lot of people soon. And those whose focus is more on post-harvest activity, commonly called “eating,” may be pursuing farmers' markets for some of that ultra-fresh produce.

The phrases “Government Solutions” and “Farmers' Market” don't exactly mesh well, but the USDA nonetheless maintains a database of farmers' markets in the United States, and the Avaya (News - Alert) Government Solutions app accesses it. Even better, the listings provide specific detail on each market’s items, with equally precise addresses and directions.

The app is currently available for free in Apple’s App Store and coming soon for Android (News - Alert) devices.

With over 7,100 farmers' markets in the United States, it's a pretty good bet there's at least one not too far away.
