AVAYA News - Quest Foglight NMS Adds Support for Avaya VoIP

The Quest Foglight Network Management System now supports Avaya VoIP, according to information released by the company today.
“As a major player in end-to-end IT infrastructure monitoring solutions, Quest is uniquely positioned to be the vendor of choice for Network and VoIP Infrastructure Monitoring,” said Matt Bolton, vice president of Product Management for Quest’s Network Management Division. “Integrated into the full Foglight Application Performance Monitoring solution, Foglight Network Management System is a leading tool used to monitor Network infrastructure. It is a natural extension to provide solutions to manage and monitor VoIP infrastructure, as well.”
With Foglight NMS, administrators can more easily see how their networks and Avaya’s (News - Alert) VoIP systems work together. This functionality will help administrators to address network delays, dropped calls, poor voice quality and other issues. In addition, administrators will have the tools that they need to monitor Avaya performance and quality metrics.
As organizations grow, they are more likely to invest in VoIP solutions. Because VoIP is a high traffic application, it can be vulnerable to network issues. As network administrators are increasingly asked to assume responsibility for VoIP, they need added visibility concerning how their networks and VoIP applications integrate.
By partnering with Avaya, Quest will enable network management solutions for over 1 million customers. Administrators will be able to monitor performance factors such as jitter, MOS, packet loss, delay and network utilization. Administrators will also be able to access a comprehensive set of reports and to enable monitoring for a variety of geographic locations. The solution can be installed and configured in less than 15 minutes.
